I play World of Warcraft quite a bit. I guess you can call it my sanctuary in difficult times. Here I’m no longer myself, but a mage controlling the elements of fire and ice, or a heroic warrior fighting a horde of orcs to save his village. Needless to say, this is a fantasy-game, that you can read more about at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com.
In my case, I play an elven priest named Aen, and an elven hunter named Inx. I’ve tried the other classes available, it being a rogue, paladin, warlock, druid and a shaman, but none of them has appealed to me as much as these two characters.
During my time playing World of Warcraft, I’ve been in quite a few guilds. A guild is like a clan of sorts, a group of people that go under the same name, with a leader, officers, the whole shebang. One guild I liked a lot was a guild named The Winds of Change. Until the Guildmaster there went nuts of course. After that, almost all the guilds have gone downhill for me. Until recently, when I joined Distinguished.
I have sincerely never met such a nice group of people before, all gathered up in one place. They are friendly, helpful, and make you laugh more often than you expect. I’m glad to finally have come upon this guild, as I’ve been looking for something like this for quite a while. Marte has joined the guild, and my best mate in the game, Noumenon, joined the guild last night. Can’t get much better than this. :)
The point of this post?
It’s the people that make you return. The friends you make across continents and seas, not the loot you are seeking to obtain. That’s the essence of the game.

Being Guildmaster of Distinguished I’m truly touched by the post. Even more so because not only is Jorge as Aen a newcomer to the Guild but I infact remember him from logn ago, when I was a wee rogue of 56 in my first group to Blackrock Depths. Inx was there and the trip was thoroughly enjoyable. Inx was on my Friend’s List for a long time after that and I even remember seeing him in a raiding Guild I was in briefly. When the Guild first started for the expansion, Inx whispered me while I was still in Hellfire, and wished me and the Guild well. When Aen joined and revealed he was Inx I think it was one of the best moments Distinguished has had. Jorge not only joined a great Guild but has contributed a lot to it, not as a priest or hunter but as a friend and excellent officer. Long may it continue! Kevin – Gaereth
