My sister gave me a Pablo Francisco-DVD as a gift a while ago (I think I’ve mentioned this before), but the problem was then, as it is now, that the DVD was probably bought and shipped from the US to here. Meaning that the DVD-region code isn’t compatible with what we use here in Norway. Frustrated back then, I had to use a computer to watch the DVD, when I just wanted to plant my butt on the couch instead. Thinking all this time that I had to buy a region-code-free DVD-player, I actually found a region code hack for my DVD-player, the Toshiba SD-350E, and it works!
Here’s how you change the region code settings.
- Turn on the machine.
- Open up the tray.
- Type 2403960.
- Press Enter to cycle to Region 9.
- Close the tray.
- Turn the player off.
- Turn the player on.
And that should be it! You should now be able to enjoy those countless movies you never were able to watch on your DVD-player. If you’re wondering what region code 9 is, have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code. My guess is that region code 9 = ALL.
Enjoy! I know I will. ;)
