I’m in the process of switching domains from ulver.no to fbarr.net. So if you are sending me emails, and they are getting bounced back, try in a few days, things should be sorted by then. :) That means that jorge.ulver.no will eventually become jorge.fbarr.net.

The big day approaches
So the big day approaches. Michael is starting kindergarten in about a week. It saddens me a bit, I mean, honestly I wish I could spend that time with him, but bills needs to be paid, and daddy needs a bit of cash that mommy can take from him. In all seriousness though, yesterday we attended our first parental meeting. We were pretty much the youngest couple there. But sheesh, how things have changed. Now they have monthly plans of what they’re going to do, new state of the art toys, not to mention that the building they’re going to be is brand new, and has an inside pool. Yeah, you heard me. I remember when I was a kid, they pretty much gave you two sticks and said “Here you go, entertain yourself. Over there you’ll find some nice mud, oh, and over there is a swing from 1949 you can try.” I am glad though that he’ll be going to kindergarten, he’ll learn how to get used to other children, draw things, just develop himself. We went to his eye-doctor yesterday as well, and we’re currently in the process of training his eye up, meaning that we cover his good one up, let him work his bad one a bit. When I say a bit, I mean an hour a day..for 6 more years. :( Can’t believe how unfair the world is sometimes.. Trying to stay motivated and looking forward is difficult, but we sure try.
The big day approaches! My little boy is growing up.

Looking back and forth
Where do you start when trying to explain how bad a year has been? 2008 was a mixed year, though leaning more towards bad than good. I overcame my depression of sorts, and am growing stronger mentally by the day, and things were looking good, but when Michael got the infection to his eye, it pretty much tipped the scale over to bad. I’d have given up any chance of happiness if I only could see my little boy well and in good health. He’s finally starting to act the way he did before all happened, so he’s his usual self. Only acting more like a bandit than anything else, which to be honest is just a joy. :)
I was sick for a week myself, flu and everything. God how I hate having the flu, or a cold. Now Marte was sick last night, and Michael threw up. He was really going for a check today, but it had to be postponed. I am working fulltime these days, so I wasn’t able to take him myself. I just turned 25, and don’t have my driverslicense yet. :( I’m going to make a real effort of getting it during this year.
I am eager to see what this new year holds for our little family. Hopefully we’ll be adding another count to the number of members. So, the goals I will be trying hard to achieve:
- Control my temper
- Pay more attention to Marte
- Treat Marte better
- Have more patience with Michael
- Pay more attention to Michael
- Play less WoW
- Get more things done in the house
- Get my driverslicense
I will try my best to get things done. Here’s a for a better year.
